She has a priority of working on an article about the Amish, but when she gets there she soon gets brought in to the life and learns more about how they live and thinks less of the article she plans to write.
She meets, and becomes involved with Dr. Noah when there is an illness in the family she's visiting. He has been shunned by the community and she sets out to change that.

Throughout the story you find out more about how the Amish live, what their beliefs are and why they feel the way they do. You also find out why the growing relationship Carley has with Noah is not one that will be easily accepted.

I really enjoyed the story. It is very well written, and does a great job of drawing the reader into the story. You really wanted to know more about the families and the lifestyle.

I recommend this book highly and look forward to reading more books by this author

Healing Sands

This was a wonderful book. She is searching for love, but feels unworthy due to a past mistake. She finds a safe place talking through letters with someone, and really grows to know and love them. When he wants to meet her, she realizes that she loves him, but is afraid when he knows her past, that he won't want to know her. You follow them through many situations of working toward feeling safe in the "real world" vs just in letters.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The writing was great, and easy to follow. I really felt a part of the story. There are many messages throughout the book, really leading you to look at your own life, and how you relate to others.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves inspirational fiction. I knew from past experience that Max Lucado's books were great and worth reading. The first thing I did when I opened the book was to search the contents. I think that is what is great about the book. I could look to what was affecting me in my own life, and go right to it. It's a book where you can find the situation you are in and read what you need at that time.
The whole book is great. The book reads to "real life" while focusing on how it relates to the biblical approach and mindset.

If you have read any of Max Lucado's books, you will love this. The illustrations on the cover and back make you want to jump in and look at more. I loved how the layout of the book is. With each weird animal having a page to itself, you really get some good information about the animal. You get the basic information such as food, climate, size, but you also get to see what makes the animal weird,or unique.
Also this book comes with a DVD of blooper episodes of the show Into the Wild. The way the book reads, it is great for a quick reading in sections. You learn about Jesus through the different parts of his life from his birth to his legacy. Throughout the book you find a personal day to day way to relate to him.
I enjoyed this book greatly. First of, I loved the artwork throughout. The pictures are wonderful and help you to get in the "awesomeness" of Him. I loved the way the book flowed. It isn't a book where you have to sit down and read it all at once. You can focus on a section at a time. There is so much to gain from it. It's easily a book to reread and capture something new each time.
I highly recommend this book. I know it made me think, and therefore grow closer to Christ in the process.

Higher Hope by Robert Whitlow

This book is a court dram following the life of a law clerk, Tami, and the people in her life. Tami is a person with high morals and beliefs. Her beliefs are very important to her and she lives her life that way. Tami is working as a summer clerk and has 2 men interested in her. You get a lot of insight to her life when she takes one of these men home to meet her family. A very interesting visit keeps you wanting more.
Due to these high beliefs, Tami gets the opportunity to be a part of a high profile case. There is a preacher who is thought to be crazy and have strange ways of reaching people. In a sub story, you get to see the life of this preacher and understand her. As the story unfolds, you find that while you think you might have it figured out, you seem to change your mind throughout.
I think the author did a really good job of keeping the flow going and giving good insight to the characters. When I started reading the book, I found myself a little confused, and thinking I wouldn't enjoy the book. I was surprised to find that I really got into the book and had a hard time putting it down.
I enjoyed how you were able to see both storylines.
